On Studying and Essays

I have a test tomorrow. I've gone over one of the topics that will be covered and I don't want to study Heracles at the moment so now I'm falling back on my lovely blog. I'm finding that I dislike studying much less now than when I first started University, that's a plus side at least. However, there is one thing I haven't grown to like any more after all these years that have gone by having to deal with them. And that, ladies and gents, would be essays.

If you have ever been one of the unfortunate souls to come into the crossfire of me and an essay, I apologize. I really do. I realize I become a cranky angry mess when I have to write one, but that probably won't stop me from asking you for ideas and help. Just be happy you're not Emma. I'd apologize to her here, but she seems very disapproving of blogs and I doubt she will read this.

Citations are dumb. So dumb. Citations can take it's complicatedness and go wank off in a corner with it. I don't like citing things. Yes, I realize we need proof to back things up, and it's academic and whatnot. I don't care, I don't like it. When I write something down that I've heard at least three times, I do not want to go out, find the source of it, and write out all of it's useless information. Why are publishing companies important?

Another thing I dislike- conclusions. Hurp durp, here's everything I condensed for you in my intro sentence, covered in the bulk of my paragraph written out for you again, in case you didn't read it THE FIRST TWO TIMES. And conclusion paragraphs? No. Just no. If I wrote a conclusion paragraph to this blog, you would think it was stupid and wonder why I was repeating myself. I think no differently when I'm writing an essay.

Anyways, this was shorter than I would have liked to write, but I really do need to study more. I would like to do decent in a few courses this year, at least. Some B's would be nice.

In conclusion, I decided to write a blog post because I didn't feel like studying. At least studying isn't so bad now, although essays are something I have always seemed to hate and it is a hatred that is growing. Some of the things that contribute to this hatred of essays are citations and conclusions, both of which contain many things that do not seem valuable to myself in any way. I will now go study more.

  1. Conclusion paragraphs are supposed to drive your point home and leave the reader with something to think about, not just reiterate what you said in your essay. Also this blog post has a concluding paragraph.

    Also citation needed.
